WHAT IS HBOT?
During Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT, animals simply breathe pure oxygen under under increased pressure. This increases the the animal's oxygen saturation by up to 10-15 times.
It is this elevated tissue oxygenation which promotes natural healing and recovery can take place at an accelerated rate.
HBOT is a non-invasive therapy well suited to treating animals.

Whilst breathing pure oxygen at increased pressure inside a chamber, the normal mechanism for carrying oxygen, that is via the haemoglobin, is quickly saturated. The extra oxygen using HBOT is dissolved into the blood plasma.
The increase in oxygen remains in the tissues for several hours post treatment.
This greatly increases the availability of oxygen
to the animal's damaged tissue and cells.

OXYGEN THERAPY CAN ACCELERATE THE HEALING PROCESS.
Treatment is customised to suit according to the type and severity of the injury or illness. A fully trained technician monitors the treatment throughout the process using both video and audio systems. You are welcome to stay with your animal throughout the treatment.
Treatments tend to be 1 to 2 hours and animals respond well to as little as 3 to 5 treatment sessions depending on their individual needs.

Each treatment is well tolerated. The chamber, whilst being pressurised, warms up to a comfortable 21ÂșC and animals are calmed by the flow of oxygen coming into the chamber. Many cats and dogs will simply curl up and go to sleep during the treatment session.
